As from what I have understood, Convergent Journalism is a growing new trend not only here in our country but also a growing new trend all over the world, particularly in the media world. Although, I know little about convergent journalism and far from being an expert on it, I can say that it is a known fact that in our generation today we greatly use high tech gadgets to make everything easy, convenient, and which makes our lives easier too. We search for things that would help us move forward, we aspire to reach the goals we have set and achieve our ideals, which is why we continue to improve our ways. Thru this, convergent journalism intends to uplift the enthusiasm of people with the purpose of getting their attention easily.
Even though I am not yet a practicing journalist, I have noticed that in newspapers, radio and in the television they use high tech stuffs just so they can compete in these very competitive world of the media. Just like here in the Philippines, companies not just the media companies use blog sites and websites to promote their company and bring a greater amount of curios customers to be aware of their company’s existence, this companies intends to be known and that is why they seek the use of the blogs, websites, online ads, etc.
Convergent journalism would certainly be a hit in our country because now-a-days Filipinos are very competitive, epecially when it comes to uplift our market and keeping our ecomony up. Television companies, radio companies and other media related companies here are very much interested in enhancing their sources and wanting to expand their horizons, meaning they would undeniably embrace new technological strategy so they can keep up.
